How to Prepare for Your QHHT Session: Setting Intentions and Crafting Your Questions

How to Prepare for Your QHHT Session: Setting Intentions and Crafting Your Questions
The single most important question you can bring to a QHHT session is also the simplest one. What is my purpose? Everything else, every question about love, health, career, or the strange dream you cannot shake, eventually circles back to that one. Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique exists to help you ask your Higher Self directly, in a state deep enough that the answers come from somewhere wiser than your everyday thinking mind.
If you are getting ready for your first QHHT style session, or you have done one before and want to go deeper this time, the questions you bring matter. Not because there is a wrong way to do this, but because a thoughtful question list helps your Higher Self know exactly where to focus during the limited hours we have together.
What QHHT Actually Is, Quickly
Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique is a hypnosis modality developed by Dolores Cannon over four decades of work with thousands of clients. It guides you into a theta brainwave state, the same restful, drifting state you pass through right before sleep, but held steady and supported so you can stay there long enough to explore. From this state, most people access what QHHT practitioners call the Higher Self. Some call it the subconscious, the oversoul, or simply the wisest part of you. Whatever name fits your own beliefs, it is the part of you that already knows your patterns, your blocks, and often the deeper why behind what is happening in your life right now.
A full QHHT style session typically runs three to five hours, but I always allow for as much time as we need. That sounds long until you understand what actually happens inside that window.
The Session Is Built Around You, Long Before the Hypnosis Begins
Here is something most guides to QHHT preparation leave out. The work does not start when you close your eyes. It starts the moment we sit down together at the beginning of the session for what I think of as the interview portion, usually the hour, sometimes longer depending on what we need to discuss.
This is where I get to know you, not just your question list, but the actual texture of your life. We talk through the major themes you are living right now. The people who matter most to you, the ones who confuse you, the ones who have shaped you in ways you are still untangling. We talk about your health history, your career, the relationship patterns that keep showing up wearing different faces. I am listening for the threads that connect to each other, the ones you might not even notice are connected until someone else is holding the whole picture alongside you.
This matters because your prepared questions are a starting point, not a script set in stone. As we talk, new questions often surface that you would never have thought to write down at home. Maybe you mention your mother almost as an aside, and something in how you say it tells me there is more there. Maybe a health issue you list briefly turns out to have roots in a pattern we uncover together in the interview. Those become questions too, added to your list in real time, refined and sharpened before we ever reach the hypnosis itself.
By the time we begin the induction, your question list is not the one you wrote alone in your kitchen the week before. It is one we built together, informed by a real conversation about your actual life. That is the level of care that goes into a three to five hour session, every minute of it tailored to you specifically, because no two people walk in with the same story.
Setting Your Intention First
Before you write a single question, sit with what you actually want from this experience. Not what you think you should want, what you actually want. Are you here because a relationship keeps falling apart in the same shape every time. Because a health issue has resisted every explanation a doctor has offered. Because something in you has been quietly asking what is the point of all this for longer than you have admitted out loud.
Write your intention down in one or two sentences. You do not need to bring this exact wording into the session, but the clarity helps. It is the same reason a river moves with more force through a narrow channel than across an open field. Focus creates momentum, and your Higher Self responds well to a session that knows where it wants to go, even before the hypnosis gives it new wisdom to work with.
How to Actually Write Good Questions
The questions that work best in a QHHT style session share a few qualities.
Start with what, why, and how, not yes or no. A question like “Will I find love” tends to produce a thin answer, because it asks for a verdict rather than understanding. “What is blocking me from finding the kind of partnership I want” opens a door instead of asking for a coin flip.
Be specific rather than general. “Why is my life hard” is too wide a question for even your Higher Self to land on cleanly. “Why do I keep choosing jobs that drain me even when I know better” gives your subconscious something precise to work with, and precise questions tend to produce precise, useful answers.
Bring the real question, not the one that sounds spiritual enough. This is the one piece of advice I would underline if I could. People sometimes arrive with a polished list of questions about soul missions and karmic contracts, while the question actually keeping them up at night, the blunt, unglamorous, deeply human one, stays unwritten because it feels too small or too raw to bring to something this sacred. Your Higher Self does not rank questions by how spiritual they sound. It responds with the same depth to “why can’t I keep a job” as it does to “what is my soul’s purpose.” Bring the real one.
Order your list by priority. Life purpose questions typically come first in a session, followed by your personal and relationship questions in order of importance to you, since there is always more curiosity than there is time. Fifteen to twenty questions is a common range for a full session, though the conversation we have in the interview will often shape exactly how many make it onto your final list.
A Note on the Difference Between Asking and Fortune Telling
There is a meaningful difference between a question that invites guidance and one that asks your Higher Self to hand you a fixed outcome, and learning to tell them apart will change the quality of what you receive.
“When will I meet my soulmate” asks for a date on a calendar, as though your future were already written and simply waiting to be read aloud to you. “What do I need to work on within myself in order to be ready for the kind of partnership I want” asks something far more useful, because it hands you something to actually do.
The same shift works across nearly every category of question.
Instead of “Will I get pregnant,” try “Is there anything I need to shift in my health, my body, or my mindset to support a pregnancy, and what would be a supportive timeframe to begin trying.”
Instead of “Will this relationship work out,” try “What is the purpose of this relationship in my life, and what am I meant to learn from it.”
This framing matters because QHHT was never meant to replace your own agency. Dolores Cannon herself built the method around the understanding that the Higher Self offers guidance, not a script you are powerless to change. Your future is not a fixed point you are waiting to discover. It is closer to a river with many possible paths, shaped by the choices and awareness you bring to each one. The most useful questions are the ones that hand you a map, not the ones that ask someone else to walk the path for you.
Where to Go From Here
Once you have your intention set and a working draft of your questions, you are most of the way prepared. The themes that come up most often in QHHT style sessions tend to fall into a few categories, and over the coming weeks I will be writing a full guide to each one.
If your questions are circling around career, purpose, and what you are actually here to do, Discovering Your Life Purpose Through QHHT will give you a much deeper list to draw from. If you are coming to this because of a health issue that has resisted explanation, What Your Higher Self Knows About Your Health goes into the kinds of questions that tend to open up real insight in that area. If it is love, family, or the same painful pattern showing up in relationship after relationship, Karmic Relationships and Soul Contracts was written with exactly that in mind. And if your curiosity runs toward the more mystical corners of this work, spirit guides, recurring numbers, the dreams that feel like memories, Starseeds, Spirit Guides, and Synchronicities is where that exploration lives.
Wherever your questions take you, bring the real ones. Write them down. And trust that by the time you are settled into your session, the list in front of you will be more complete, more honest, and more truly yours than anything you could have written alone.

Why Highly Sensitive People Struggle with Grounding (and What Actually Helps)

Many highly sensitive people and empaths find grounding surprisingly difficult. While others seem to stay steady and present, you may feel floaty, anxious, scattered, or overly open to energies around you. You might try common spiritual grounding techniques such as walking barefoot, deep breathing, or visualization and still feel unanchored.
